Big day tomorrow!

Tomorrow I really need to be on top of things. Everything I've got booked seems to be overlapping just a little bit until 8:00 pm, when I get to sit down and enjoy my friend's feature film that he made. He and a group of guys from his hall have been working on this movie for TWO years! But now it is finally done and he is holding a huge premiere for it tomorrow night. He has hired me to do all the photography for the event and to get some fun cast pictures beforehand. I'm charging up my battery now and I'm going to clear off my memory cards as soon as this is posted. It's going to be awesome. Oh, and my car even makes a cameo in it (with me driving!), hitting my friend Tyler. Speaking of Tyler, before I have the photography shoot for the movie, I'm going to be acting in a music video with him. I really have no idea what I am going to be expected to do, so I'm pretty nervous. All I know is it's supposed to be a romantic scene, which can really mean anything. At least I am pretty comfortable around Tyler so hopefully this won't get too awkward.

Winding down the semester...

Busy busy busy. There is so much I want to get down, but time is flying by so fast. Today was pretty exciting, I had a video shoot and got a huge paper done. Tomorrow is going to be busy too, but I'm hoping I can make it to salsa dancing at 8. I'll have to see though.

I took this on break from my three hour class. I got to lay down in the sun and a patch of buttercups for about five minutes. It was great.

I was right

Yup, today was hard. My lack of sleep finally caught up with me. Though I really can't complain, since one of my favorite guy friends has been getting only four hours of sleep per night for the past month in order to get his movie done. I couldn't do it. Just a couple days in a row and my body freaks out. Anyway, I took today's picture at Panera Bread! Yum...
        Picture # 114
I wanted to just dig into that food! But no I decided to be patient. I went tripod-less again today so it's a pretty different angle than normal. But I like it.

Made it with minimal Caffeine!

Since I was running on about three hours of sleep today, I fully expected to have been downing Mountain Dews right and left to keep on working. But actually it wasn't bad at all and I was able to stay focused really well. Tomorrow will probably be really tough since I still have a book report to finish before I can go to bed and then I have an 8:50 class tomorrow. So hopefully God will multiply my hours of sleep. Otherwise I might just give in and drink those Mountain Dews. :(
          Picture # 113

See? Lazy today. Hopefully tomorrow I can get back into a good workflow of creativity. And productivity.

Missed...

I missed yesterday's, I know. Shame on me. Stupid schoolwork, getting in the way of my goals.
        Picture # 112

I'm just warning you, yesterday I stayed up till three trying to get a video done in time (We turned it in fine!) and then had to get up at 6:30 to be on time to re-shoot stand ups. So I'm going to be lazy about today's picture. And I have two huge papers and two videos to finish this week too. I'm never gonna sleep. Blah....

Today I watched my school's performance of The Scarlet Pimpernel. It was amazing! I loved every second of it. And of course, I had the music stuck in my head for the rest of the day. I miss performing on stage so much. But for now I am concentrating on learning as much as I can about the video medium.
Anyway, soon after I got back to my dorm from the musical there was a double rainbow. I got to see it, but did not have my camera on me at the time. Such a shame. And I'm posting two today, I was trying for different focus points and I love how they both turned out.

Saturdays are not for schoolwork!

But this Saturday was still busy. It feels like I am almost constantly working during the school days, but not on things I would like to work on. I still feel like I am better at life than I am at school. Which is why today I ran errands, supported Autism Awareness Month, had a wonderful video shoot for the second episode of Lynchburg 24502, and had another girl's night. Now I'm exhausted and going to bed. I've got three papers due this week, so I am going to tackle them tomorrow. Joy.

Party Girls

One of my favorite girls in my life is also one of the craziest. We've been through high school together, she saved my from the jerks on the Tennis team freshman year, we went to homecomings and proms, made it through graduation...Now we are at the same college and it's the exact same. We will sometimes meet up for Halloween, we went to Israel together last year, and she throws awesome parties at her house. Not drinking parties or the stereotypical types you think of when you hear college party. But we got to enjoy our time together and laugh a ridiculous amount. Hopefully enough to somewhat counteract all the marshmallows we roasted.
Here are all the single ladies!

Love, love, LOVE these girls! We had some funny moments, let me tell you. :)

Ending strong

There are three weeks left of the semester, and the time is just flying by. I wish that I could say I had used my time wisely this semester, but there is so much I missed out on just because I decided to watch TV or be lazy. That's something I need to work on. Looking back though, in reality, I accomplished so many of my goals. In January, I wrote out a list of twenty things I wanted to do this semester. A few were weekly type deals, and I did them for a week or two, but slowly they fell to the wayside. One I completely crossed out as I realized that I just would not be able to make it work. But overall, I met and even exceeded some of my expectations. I definitely want to write out another list to accomplish in the fall, I seem to always get more done when I know I'll be able to cross something off.

Today totally reminds me of a senior picture. Oh well. And I loved the flowers! So pretty.

Technology hates me

Once again, I love what I do, and I wouldn't trade it for the world. But sometimes I get so frustrated with the technology necessary to accomplish my goals. I can do everything right in production...but that just means something will wrong in post. I am not technologically inclined at all, so for where I am now it's pretty impressive. But today it took me forever just to get my footage to a place where I could edit it. Finally I can start tomorrow, but I'm way behind. :(

Showing my frustration at computers....
And I'm adding this one for fun. It's like a cartoon me.

I freakin' LOVE my bangs!

Awkward!!!

Wow today was an awkward day. People keep trying to nudge me towards a relationship when I am content in my singleness right now. I also have a ton of work to get done right now but I did not get nearly as much of it done as I wanted to today. It seems that I am much better at life than I am at school. I could probably drop out right now and land on my feet just fine. But if I don't put in the hours now then I'll be paying for it later. So it'll be a late night tonight. Which is why I am hanging with my girl Dawn in the school's student hangout.

Got to mess around with studio lighting today. I really liked the effect but I still prefer natural light.

Mostly back on track

I'm still letting a few details fall through the crack as I work to get back to my normal productivity level. But overall I'm pretty please with today. There was some unexpected facebook drama that I was not expecting at all but I guess I was asking for it. And yes, this is all I am going to say for right now...
Picture # 105
I got to spend some of the day outside with some band friends. Of course a photo shoot would result. I had a hard time picking todays, but I'm trying to go back to limiting myself to just one picture...

Lazy Sunday

Today has been my most laziest in a long, long time. In a last minute decision, last night I didn't set an alarm for today. I thought I would wake up around ten, maybe eleven, since I have been getting up early and figured my body would be used to it. Nope. I slept until 3:45...PM! I couldn't believe it. And I have been doing minimal work since then. I have a video project due on Wednesday and I was planning on getting all of my footage shot today. Did not happen. Now I have to figure out something completely new to do. Oh well.
Picture # 104
Sorry there is nothing cool about today's picture at all. I tried to get a shot around 8:00 tonight and nothing was working out. I'll get back on track tomorrow though, don't worry.

And just because this is awesome,

Busy, busy day

Wow today just flew by. I was up soon after sunrise, but didn't actually make it up and out of bed until after 8:30. Once I was fully coherent and moving, I went for a drive just to see where God would take me. After seeing some really cool sights in the town where I live, I ended up downtown in this adorable coffee shop.
This was my set up for two hours while I just reflected on the book of Micah and wrote down stuff in my journal. Then I had a huge video shoot that took quite a long time, and finished the day with some wonderful time with friends I haven't talked to in months.
Picture # 103
Sorry today's picture is kind of dark. I was exhausted the entire day and I did not want to take a picture showing my eyes. But I do think that my hair looks really cool.

My comfort

Today was a beautiful day. Not everything went my way, and I did not even come close to getting everything accomplished that I wanted to. But it certainly was a God-filled day, from getting an immediate response to a prayer request to getting my internship approved so I can go to Egypt. I had this totally calm feeling the entire day, and the only times I feel like this is when I'm seeking God and not myself. I will admit, this blog has given me confidence and a fierce love of God's creation and gifts, but it's hard to keep humble. That's why I had to mention something today. God is worthy to be sought, not for our glory but for His.

Gotta love the Weeping Willows, they just embody peace.

Times moves fast

It's funny, today things were falling apart around me all day. I had forgotten to write a five page paper, I forgot that I had to have accountability with a girl on my hall, I think I might have some boy trouble and I did not think that I was going to get my internship paper signed. But God moved so much today. I got my paper done, I had lunch with some of the best guys on campus, the meeting with the girl on my hall ended up being one of the highlights of my day...Oh and I got my internship paper signed. I have one last person to see tomorrow and as soon as she approves me I am going to Egypt!!!
Things are moving fast. Way fast. In some ways I hate looking at this blog because the pictures change so often and already my spring break pictures are way back there in the archives. But on the other hand this has pushed me to do more things on a daily basis then I thought it would. Anyway, this is enough ranting from me.
Picture # 101
Forgot my tripod AGAIN, that tricky bugger. I do love how it makes me improvise though. It definitely makes me think outside the box.

My 100th! Self-Portrait that is

Ok. So I know the "rules" of a 365 self-portrait challenge basically state that you can only post one picture a day. But they are more like guidelines anyway. ;) Besides, I'm in completely different locations for each picture. And it's not a pride thing, I decided to do this challenge to become a better photographer, learn my angles, and gain confidence. All positive things.
Picture # 100!!!
I went with a punk princess feel for today's shoot. And yes, I am lying in a pool of pink petals. I know, it's awesome.
Picture # 100b
Save yourself while the dryer of doom sucks me in!!!!!!!!!!! :( Actually, I was shocked I could fit. I got pretty much my entire body in the dryer at one point, but those pictures didn't turn out like I thought they would. Even so, you gotta love this contrast!
Picture # 100c
Back outdoors! Yes, there are petals falling in the background, yes I am sitting back against the tree. This would have been the most perfect location if it wasn't for the awful looking dorms behind me. Oh well, no time to try and photoshop them out.
Picture # 100d

That's right, I am the queen of the laundry room. I chose to do a few pictures in here to reminisce over my winter shoot back in February. I got some strange looks, but I am getting better about doing things anyway no matter what people think of me.

My 99th Picture for this challenge!

WOW! Where has the time gone? I can't believe just how fast this semester has flown by. Anyway, I had on the cutest dress today and was all set to take an awesome picture outside when I found I had left behind my memory card. Embarrassing. Then when I finally made it back to my dorm I discovered that I had left my tripod in the media lab where I was helping out a friend. I swear, everything was going wrong for my picture tonight. So   my technique for my photo tonight was super simple, but I do love the way my "one" eye is captured in it. Tomorrow will be crazy awesome though, get excited.

Lovely sunshine

I live on the edge of my campus, and it's about a ten minute walk to the main building. I typically do take the walk instead of the bus. A good portion of my time is spent indoors and some days walking back and forth is my  only time spent outside in the sun. Very sad I know. But today as I was walking I noticed that the little fountain by my dorm was turned on. I loved listening to it, the sound is super relaxing.
Picture # 98
Look forward to my 100th picture, it's going to be awesome!!! Not exactly sure where I'll be taking it yet, but I've got some big plans. :)

It's time to PLAY!

Today was a play day. I did study for a test once....for about ten minutes. But mostly I hung out with friends and did a lot of stuff all over town. I went to the park with my leadership team for awhile today, here is the resulting picture.
Picture # 97
Here I am about to catch a water balloon that my RA is tossing me. It was fun. The ironic thing is that I was the only girl who was 100% fine with getting wet, but pretty much the only girl who not once got hit with a water balloon above the knees. And going out to the park today really made me miss playing outside with friends. I absolutely love it but way to often I have no motivation to get a group together and plan something. I hope I can change that mentality soon.

Learning how to fix my car

My front turn signal recently burned out on my car. I really had no clue how to fix this but luckily my friend Kyle was willing to step up and help! We traveled to walmart and I got to explore the auto care section. Interesting stuff resides there....
Anyway, we ended up changing the bulb right there in the parking lot!

Haha I had to be creative because I forgot my tripod in my dorm. Oops.

A dear friend!

Today was a great day. Minus my philosophy exam. That was brutal. But right after I got called "A Spring Princess," I ran into a few people who I rarely get to see and I took pictures with my friend Brittney. I haven't seen Brittney since the fall because she decided to take a year off of regular school and get her certificate in Cosmetology. She's coming back this year though, and has auditions for the school's color guard in the morning.
Picture # 95
We had fun, as you can tell. And it's funny that in this shot she isn't looking in the camera at all, because in the next shot we switch.
Picture # 95b

Isn't she beautiful? I miss seeing her lovely self around the halls. She is one of the few girls I can trust to tell me the truth. Even when she's brutally honest, I love it.

Two dinners!

I was so blessed tonight, I was given two free, home cooked meals. Both were delicious!
My prayer professor had my class of twelve over at his house tonight, where he shared a lesson and cooked for us. His wife was such a sweetheart and invited me to come back whenever I needed to get off campus. Then I went over to a local family's house where a friend had been shooting a video scene. I met the family last fall, and they have some of the biggest hearts that I know. This was the third time they fed me. :) But unfortunately I have a philosophy test tomorrow so I have to study for that. Not fun at all.
Picture # 94
Decided to go all night vision tonight. Also, my hair is looking crazy from the rain. There was really nothing I could do. Tomorrow though, I hope to have an awesome photo shoot with an old friend. Should be good!

Caught up on Wednesday!

So now my 365 challenge is caught up, but definitely not my sleep or homework. I'm going to have a lot to do tomorrow. Anyway, today I got really lazy about taking my picture of the day, so I threw in some fun editing.
Picture #93
And with this, I'm going to bed. Peace yo!

Tuesday in New York!

Yesterday was such a whirlwind. But so worth it. I'm still behind on sleep, but I have no time to rest. :( Anyway, here is my picture from Tuesday (without a tripod, no less)!
Picture # 92
Here I am sitting in the Brooklyn Tabernacle, an amazing church that really follows the way Jesus taught. They have a phenomenal prayer life and I was so blessed by it.
We were also given some time to roam around Brooklyn.
Picture # 92b
I got to see the New York skyline during the sunrise. It was such an awesome sight. We found the skyline again, and where I am standing in this, well basically the Twin Towers would have been somewhere behind my head. I think a couple of people from our group went all the way to ground zero. But my group just walked around several blocks exploring the city.

Monday's pictures!

Ok, I'm back from New York! I had a blast and learned a lot about prayer (the purpose of the trip) but I am so exhausted today. Anyway, I'll post the Tuesday picture in a little bit and I will probably say more about where I went in the city.
Picture# 91
Ok, I did NOT take this picture. But this is my production team for the music video I'm working on. All three of these guys are phenomenal, and I really lucked out to have them.
Picture # 91b
A production shot from my video shoot on Monday! Once I get all the images (I took more than six hundred!) that I like over to the band and they post them on their site I'll put the link up on here. Now I have to edit the hours of footage we have. :(

No post today, I've got plans

Ok, so I'm about to leave for New York and I just don't have time to post anything tonight. I do have some great pictures to post from my video shoot today but I don't even have time to take them off the card. I will post something as soon as I can.
I also can't wait to take pictures in New York. I am going for a class but it's also to go to a prayer meeting at this amazing Church in Brooklyn. I've heard it'll change my life and I am really, really excited to see what God's going to do. Anyway, the bus is about to load and I'm not even finished packing yet! But really, I'll post as soon as I can.

It was a hot, sticky, beautiful day.

This weekend was a quick visit for my family, up mid afternoon yesterday and gone by 2:30 today. But we really enjoyed our time together and instead of bringing up Easter baskets full of candy, mom took us shopping! I made out like a bandit. :)
But today I had to drive my sister back to her school and then rush back here for a little get together of coms people. It was 80 degrees out and the humidity was back. I felt so gross all throughout driving but once I was able to get to the party and get out of the sun it was fine.
Anyway, here is a small shot of what I was wearing for Easter!
Picture # 90
I am wearing this dress in the picture so I'm counting it. Plus, I wanted to highlight my sister's awesome shot that I took of her today.
Doesn't she look so cool?! I took this through the end of the car door, definitely love how it turned out.
Anyway, I need to wrap this up since I smell horribly of smoke (there was a bonfire at the party) and I have an early video shoot tomorrow. Hopefully everything will go very smoothly (who am I even trying to kid with this statement, HA!).

Enjoy your Easter!!!

Here I am, sitting in a hotel. My family is down here for the weekend and I decided to stay with them instead of in my dorm. This result in some internet difficulties but I was able to resolve them. Since Sunday we are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ I am posting a picture I took last spring bring in Israel.
There is a little bit of photo noise because of the lowlight situation and I didn't have my DSLR then. But I love this picture of the cross.

Good Friday

There is so much I could say about this day, but I'm sure you have all been hearing awesome Jesus stuff everywhere. I will say this though, recently I watched the crucification scene from the Passion of the Christ, and wow it is powerful. It serves as such a strong reminder of what Jesus really went through out of His love for the Father and for us. If you need to get your life right with God, there is no better time than the present. For only when we are living for Him, can we truly live life.

P.S., I love my new haircut. It was done by my awesome friend Ciera. I absolutely love my bangs!

Happy April Fools!

Today was a fun day. I got up at early, shot some much needed footage of two adorable kittens and hung out with the girl who owns them, and really enjoyed a quick lunch with my friend Joe.
Later, I got called "One of the guys" in the media lab as I was editing, then got pushed into playing Call of Duty where I soon got called a chick by someone else and was told I shouldn't be playing. After I played for, 15 minutes or so I went to my last class which we held outside. It was beautiful!
Picture # 88
I am just slightly out of focus so I am going to include two other pictures today. :)
Here is a picture of the text we were reading for class on top of my favorite skirt.
Picture # 88 b
And finally, my April Fools fun. Someone in the media lab changed my relationship status from single to engaged. I was talking to someone and had left my chair, leaving the computer wide open. I have some theories as to who did it, but I really pretty much have no clue. So just joking around, I convinced my friend Tyler to be my fiancĂ©. This would never happen in a million years, but we had fun pretending. He even made me a ring!
Picture April Fools :)

Check out that bling on my left hand! And don't we just make the cutest couple?
